Post Hospital Discharge (Oct 07)

After my weekend at home I suffered no ill effects. I returned to hospital for a few days to try and reduce my painkiller dosage. Intitially Naproxen, and then Oxynorm and Oxycontin was attempted. This was a rather unpleasant experience, I am still taking Naproxen but have moved to a Codeine based painkiller. After this I was allowed to return home and recuperate.

This period should allow the Anakinra to build up in my system, and to reduce the amount of steroid I am taking. I was discharged on 40mg of Prednisolone and after three weeks this was reduced to 30mg. I felt no major ill effects from this decrement.

I have commenced a physiotherapy program involving a streching and strengthening regime and stationary cycling. I am not finding this easy as my muscles have reduced and tightened with inactivity. My hands and wrists are also still quite painful. Hopefully long term as my muscles imoprve this will help to splint my joints.
